For generations, Cretans have journeyed far away from the island, in search of a better life for themselves and their families. Whether as a result of war or famine, for employment of just simply chasing a dream, Cretans have dispersed throughout the earth— always leaving with a nostalgia for the island, its culture and traditions— and thirst to return.

The Theodore Boutique Hotel story is a homecoming story, created and inspired by diaspora Cretans who, although far from the island physically, have kept her close to their heart and soul.

The ritual of pilgrimage takes place annually on Crete, when second, third, fourth generation young people of Cretan descent return to breath the air of their ancestors and become mesmerized with an important part of their own cultural DNA.

The pilgrimage to the homeland is a special and unique experience for anyone on that journey and we hope to welcome you “home” at The Theodore Boutique Hotel.
